Summer 2012

My last post was toward the end of the school year, and here it is 2 weeks before the start of the new school year. Summer, where have you gone???
Well, let's see:
We had to have our dining room floor excavated at the end of May to fix a broken pipe, and at the gracious invitation of our church we were able to spend 4 days and 3 nights at the youth building. It proved to be an unexpected and fun "stay-cation" for our family. The kids had a great time playing the Wii on the giant screen and using the playground. The building has several rooms and everyone had their own futon on which to sleep. We also had use of the kitchen and laundry facilities so we really weren't inconvenienced much.

Abby helping at VBS. The theme was Babylon: The Courage of Daniel
The following week the kids and I participated in VBS at the church. Zac, Seth. Abby and I were group leaders and the younger kids were attendees. It was a very fruitful and rewarding (and okay, tiring) week.

On Father's Day Seth and Abby left for Gallup, NM for a week-long missions project, and two weeks after that they spent a week at an adventure camp outside San Antonio. Zac attended Chrysalis in July for three days and returned home a changed kid. :-)
The first week of August Madalyn and Ally went to Lueders, TX for Missions Camp for 3 days. Abby also went to serve as a youth sponsor. In late July Abby and Seth helped in a tremendous way at a small church an hour away. They spent several hours a day for 5 days helping the church with their first-ever VBS program.
Did I mention the best news of all? WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!!!!!! We closed July 27 and are grateful for everything God has done in our lives in the 2-1/2 years that it was on the market. GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!!
