Monday

There's nothing like unexpected kindness from a stranger. Today in the mail I received a pretty envelope addressed to "owner of the home" with our address. Inside was a sweet note from someone who had apparently come through our home last week. She thanked me for making the house look so nice and mentioned she knows what a challenge it is to do with children, as she has 5. She went on to say that the Lord had put us on her heart to be praying for us and she included a Scripture. Also enclosed was a WalMart gift card and she said she felt led to bless us with it.
I'm a little dumbfounded, very touched and very grateful.

Friday Funny

There is never a dull moment in our family; especially when we're dogsitting Copper. Nate actually drank out of the bowl like a dog, but after an unpleasant result he resorted to just washing his hands in it.

Going South

Much to our surprise and elation, we are moving to Abilene, TX. Three days ago Matt was asked to take the reins as store manager at Mardel. He's walking into a difficult situation which will be stressful but rewarding. He is heading down there today and will be formally introduced to the staff tomorrow morning.
There are many uncertainties at this point. Where will we live?  How soon can we move? Where will the kids attend school? I know there is a church that needs us and that we need to be a part of, but how will we know?  What about our current home?
Since we are currently a one-vehicle family and there was no time to secure a car rental, Matt is driving the Suburban to Abilene for the week.  We stocked up on groceries so the kids and I can hang tight  without worrying about running out of supplies (except paper towels, which I forgot.  Phooey!) but it will be challenging to keep 8 small and tall people occupied here at home for 6 days.
I'm confident of this one thing: God is good.  All the time. All the time, God is good. This is the unfolding of His plan, the path we've been waiting to be revealed for so long.  I'm excited and apprehensive, relieved and overwhelmed. But His ways are higher than mine and He knows what is in store for us. Praise the Lord, our Provider!
